Third World Women

Interviews

Included in these pages are interviews with health professionals who have worked with Third World Women's health issues. The health professionals spent 30 minutes talking about:

  • A major women's health issue in the countries they worked in
  • Programs to improve women's health in this area
  • Communication issues between American health professionals and third world women

Rather than an overview of the health issue and programs for the country, these interviews represent one health professional's experiences. Instead of statistics, you will hear how some health professionals have dealt with women's health issues in other countries.

Interview pages include: audio clips from the interview, direct quotes as text, paraphrased sections of the interview, and links to other websites with supplemental material.

You will need Real Player Basic to listen to the audio clips. You can download Real Player Basic for free at http://www.real.com. The clips are best listened to with high speed internet access (local area network/LAN, cable modem, DSL, ISDN), but they can be downloaded over modem access (the short clips are 2-3 minutes in length).
